The
conventional laser hood requiring frequent and ongoing
visits to the clinic. |
For many
years, leading hair clinics and salons in Europe, Asia and around
the world have been using Laser PhotoTherapy a form of
laser technology also referred to as Low Level Laser
Therapy to improve the appearance of hair. Over and over
individuals suffering from thin, lifeless hair have achieved
great results with this form of therapy.
But until
just recently, Laser PhotoTherapy was only available through
exclusive hair clinics. These clinics rely on large, fixed laser
devices that necessitate the patient to attend many regularly
scheduled, often inconvenient, "in office" therapy sessions.
However,
a new more convenient and affordable option to this traditional
method of receiving Laser PhotoTherapy began to evolve in the
late 90's.
In Australia, our founding Director operated a hair care
clinic specializing in laser therapy and focused on developing
the best possible method for improving the appearance of one's
hair. Men and women throughout Australia experienced exciting
and impressive results.
Through two decades of practical observations and technical
research the ideal solution was created.

The
World's first in-home laser treatment for hair.

In 2000,
Lexington International developed and patented the HairMax LaserComb
to miniaturize the internationally established technology
of Laser PhotoTherapy. Thus, making it possible for the first
time, for you to receive this effective hair care treatment
in the comfort and privacy of your home, office or hotel - at
a fraction of the cost charged by hair clinics.
OBJECTIVES
OF LASERCOMB TREATMENT
The LaserComb works by stimulating the natural hair growing
cycle. Hair follicles naturally grow in repeated cycles. One
cycle can be broken down into three phases.
- Anagen
Growth Phase
- Catagen
Transitional Phase
- Telogen
Resting Phase
Each hair
passes through the phases independent of neighboring hairs.
The objective
of Laser PhotoTherapy, for hair, as delivered through the HairMax
LaserComb, hair can be summarized through the following descriptions:
A.
In the Growth Phase or Anagen Phase, each hair
grows approximately one centimeter (1/2 inch) a month for a
period of 2 to 8 years. The LaserComb helps by giving energy
to the hair growth process and producing healthier, fuller hair.
B. In the Resting Phas or Telogen Phase,
the hair stops growing and ‘rests’ for 2 to 4 months and
eventually falls out. The LaserComb helps by stimulating re-growth
of new hair.
C. Termed Vellus Hair (light colored, short, fine
"peach fuzz” hairs), the LaserComb helps these fine hairs
by stimulating them to grow into thicker, more mature hair.
D. The root is dead and cannot be helped.
It is postulated
by the makers of the LaserComb that the HairMax LaserComb may
stop or reverse the cycle of miniaturization by stimulating
the follicle and the production of living cells in the hair
root that eventually make up the hair shaft. Studies on the
effects of Laser PhotoTherapy have shown an increase in adenosine
triphosphate, or ATP, which contributes to the higher energy
level in the living cells. In addition, an increase in blood
flow to the capillaries of the hair root occurs, delivering
more nutrients to the living cells that create the hair shaft.
This increased blood flow also carries away more waste products
which may result in diminishing the effects of DHT on the miniaturization
process of the hair follicles.
